Starman

Recently I finished writing my memoir. It started as a series of essays, which found homes with Granta, Aeon and The Real Story among other publications, and after a year of redrafting I found the thread of the greater story. My father lost millions of dollars, a publishing business and his home in a beautiful seaside town just north of San Francisco. He became derelict on the streets of Ilfracombe, just as I was trying to establish a life without him, married with the beginnings of a family. I had to return to this story in order to understand what then transpired. The result is STARMAN. A profound story of a daughter’s fixation with her delinquent and elusive father, and her eventual release.
