Caught in the moment

Today, I saw this video for the first time and kept going back to it. Leckey so brilliantly captures the intimacy of those clubbing moments when everything falls away and the dancing, music and company feels as if it is the best it can ever be.

I love the rawness of his material and the sometimes scrappy way he puts it together, and the strange foreboding sense of danger; because within that abandonment, we’re often on the edge of something potentially disturbing.

It reminds me of writing at its best: when it comes from somewhere dark within you, and surprises, taking you in directions you never knew you could go.

If you’ve not seen this before, take 15 minutes to get lost in the experience.
